What are the differences in costs for petrol/EVs?

Traditional petrol vehicles may currently outweigh EVs in terms of options and purchase cost, but electric vehicles are cheaper to run. They are exempt from road tax as they don’t produce emissions, and with the growing demand, the infrastructure will continue to develop.

How much does it cost to charge an electric car? The charging costs to refuel electric cars and plug-in hybrids are also lower than filling up a traditional ICE car, considering ever-increasing petrol prices. This is especially true of using home charging points, which offer cheap and simple overnight charging. With a home charging point, you can fully charge your vehicle for less than £4 a time.

How can my business apply for the OLEV grant? To qualify;

  • Your workplace needs to have dedicated off-street parking available
  • No previous charge points have been installed

Every full electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid is eligible for the OLEV grant for workplaces. Your business does not even need an electric vehicle to apply for the grant or to install charge points. This scheme aims to increase the use of EVs and incentivises businesses to future-proof parking locations.

When you purchase your charge point, it will be installed on a date and time you desire. NewMotion works with a small number of trusted install partners, who install our smart charge points throughout the UK. All are certified by OLEV ensuring you can qualify for the grant.

All NewMotion business charge points are eligible for the OLEV grant. You can future-proof your parking location by choosing one of our Business packages. Our Business Future-Proof Package includes our NewMotion Pro + Lite Combination, the NewMotion distribution unit and installation.
