    This is the moment where you can let us know how and what exactly you want for your charge point: where do you want it installed, which colour… all online

    Confirmed quote

    We will send you a breakdown of your order. Once your EV provider approves, we will get in touch to schedule an installation date

    Installation

    Your charge point will be mounted and connected to your mains power supply ready for use, typically takes about 2 hours

  • Step 4

    Activation

    And the most exciting part: the first charge. The installer will do a quick demonstration and after activating your products online, you’ll be able to start charging your EV

Frequently asked questions

  • Plugging your car into the wall socket is not just inefficient as it can take ages to be fully charged, but it can also be dangerous. Our charge points, besides being very good looking, are also extremely secure and will charge your EV up to 22kW.

  • The charge time depends on the battery size of your car and the speed of your charger. Your dealership will be your best friend on this matter. They will be able to provide you with further information based on which car you have ordered.

  • Usually, it takes up to 6 weeks to install your charge point.

    Don’t worry, we won’t let you in the dark. We’ll continuously be in touch with you on the exact timelines from the moment you order.

  • You can remotely start and stop charging sessions via our online platform myNewMotion. Here, you can also track and monitor charging sessions and configure settings such as reimbursement tariffs and access.

  • Possible cause

    • No electricity connected to charge point

    • The card is not a charge card, but e.g. a credit card.

    • The card is defective

    • RFID reader at the charge point no longer works


    Solution

    • Move the position of the circuit-breaker (Note: If you have a three-position circuit-breaker, then you must first push it downwards before it can be pushed upwards).
    • Check that your lease card is not just set for petrol.
    • Check whether your card is worn or torn. If so, request a replacement free of charge on our website.
    • Contact NewMotion if none of the above solve the problem.


    To get started check that you have the following:

    • You have a registered and active my.newmotion account.
    • You have a NewMotion charge card. This charge card needs to be activated and configured for public charging in your my.newmotion account.
  • Yes, our charge points are completely waterproof and stand temperatures between -30°C and +50°C.

  • The charge point connects directly to your home electricity connection, so you will be billed directly by your supplier at your standard energy rate. Contact your electricity supplier to find out the rate you pay per kWh.

  • If you are not adding Dynamic Power Management (DPM) and the free capacity in your main power supply is already limited, you will most likely have to increase the fuse size. If you add DPM you will better utilize the free capacity and recharge faster. In some cases, you might have to both install DPM and increase the main fuse size.
