How to use Remote Charge Point Control and E-mail Notifications in my.newmotion.com?

  • Log in with your account
  • Go to your dashboard
  • Select the tab 'charge points'

You can implement the various remote actions using the options button next to the charge point status indication:

  • Reset charge point
  • Stop session
  • Start session

Switch on “E-mail Notifications” if you wish so and simply enter your e-mail address

What are the advantages of Remote Charge Point Control?

You can reboot your charge point (including unlocking the cable), as well as start and stop the charge session via your online dashboard my.newmotion.com. Is a fully charged EV occupying a charge point? Is the charge cable stuck? Or does your charge card fail to work? No problem – you can start and stop the charge session and reset the charge point in one click. Login to my.newmotion.com to resume the charge session right away, with no need to contact customer support. With Remote Charge Point Control, you can increase the utilisation of your charge points. Therefore, business locations require less charge points, resulting in less investment in charging infrastructure. Most options are only available by logging in to myNewMotion. Public charging is also possible via our application.

My charge cable is stuck in the charge point – what should I do?

You can easily unlock the cable via the Remote Charge Point Control functionality in your dashboard. Go to my.newmotion.com, log in with your account information, visit your dashboard select the tab 'charge points' and then you can end your charge session using the options button. Ending the charge session will automatically unlock the connector. This means that the vehicle connected will stop charging.

My charge point does not respond anymore – what should I do?

You can easily reset your charge point remotely via your online dashboard my.newmotion.com. No need to call customer support or switch off the power in the fuse box. Simply log in with your account details, go to your dashboard, select the 'charge points tab' and you can reset your charge point using the options button. Bear in mind that resetting the charge point will stop all active charge sessions on this charge point. This means that all vehicles connected to this charge point will stop charging. The terminated charge sessions must be restarted manually.

  2. Select 'start session'
  3. Select the charge card to be used for paying the charge session. You can only select cards that have been added to the same user account as the charge point
  4. Click on 'start'

Can I temporarily add a charge card?

No, that is not possible. You can only select charge cards that have been added to the same user account as the charge point.

When can I make use of the Remote Charge Point Control?

To use Remote Charge Point Control, you must have purchased the online services package (Plus) with your charge point.

I cannot use the Remote Charge Point Control option in my my.newmotion account. What is the problem?

Have you purchased the online services package (Plus)? If you have and you still cannot use Remote Charge Point Control, please contact our customer service via customerservice@newmotion.com.

I used one of the functionalities of Remote Charge Point Control but nothing happened.

Please check your charge point in the first instance. Is it rebooting? Has the session started or stopped? Please refresh your webpage by clicking the refresh button within your dashboard. This can take up to 3 minutes. Still nothing? Please try again. If this fails to solve the problem, please get in touch with our customer service team for assistance.

Can I send multiple commands?

We strongly recommend not to send more than one command. In order to work properly some processing time is needed. Think of a website that is refreshing after a time out, hitting the refresh button again and again will only frustrate yourself and the charge point as well.

My charge point is stated as “unknown”, can I still use Remote Charge Point Control?

At this moment the status of your charge point is not clear. This might be due to a delay, so you can try giving it commands. First try using the Remote Charge Point Control functionality, but at this moment the status of your charge point is not clear. However, if nothing happens after you perform one of the controls, please provide a hard reset of the charge point by switching your fuse box off and on. If this has no effect, please get in touch with our customer service team.
