Download our new EV Charging app

First of all, thank you for being a loyal user of the NewMotion app. The EV movement is growing thanks to drivers like you and we are thankful to accompany you on your electric journey.

To service you better in the future, we’ve developed the new EV Charging app especially for drivers of NewMotion partners. This will be the only app that supports your NewMotion partner charge card. Your charge sessions or transactions will not be impacted in any way and you will be able to use your charge card across our charging network just like you’re used to.

Your current NewMotion app will become the Shell Recharge app and no longer support your NewMotion partner charge card.

Important: Keep the Shell Recharge app on your device if you also have a charge card that you ordered directly from NewMotion.

Q: Why do I have to switch to the new EV Charging app?

A: To service you better in the future, we’ve developed the new EV Charging app especially for drivers that hold a charge card from NewMotion partners such as leasing companies, fuel card companies, and other corporate clients. By doing this, we are able to develop new functionalities better tailored to your needs. These new features will become automatically available through future app updates.

Q: Will there be any changes in how I use my charge card?

A: There will be no changes in the way you can use your charge card on our charging network. You will be able to use your charge card across our charging network just like you’re used to.

Q: Will charge costs be different or effected?

A: No, there will be no change to charging costs after switching to the new EV Charging app.

Q: Can I continue to use the current NewMotion app?

A: Your current NewMotion app will become the Shell Recharge app and no longer support your charge card from a NewMotion partner. You can continue to use the app to search for charge points in our charging network, but will not be able to use or add the charge card that was provided by your NewMotion partner.

Q: What app should I use if I have multiple charge cards, both from a NewMotion partner and from NewMotion directly?

A: You should use the EV Charging app for the charge card of your NewMotion partner. Keep the Shell Recharge app on your device to use the charge card that you ordered directly from NewMotion.

Q: How do I download the new EV Charging app?

A: You can download the new EV Charging app in the Play and App store.

Q: How do I login to the new EV Charging app?

A: You can login with your existing NewMotion credentials.

Q: Will my charge sessions or transaction be impacted when I switch to the EV Charging app?

A: Your charge sessions or transactions will not be impacted in any way.

Q: Will my app settings be transferred to the new EV Charging app?

A: The settings in your current NewMotion app will not be transferred to the new EV Charging app. You will need to reconfigure your settings after downloading and logging in to the new EV Charging app.

Q: Will there be a difference in functionality between the new EV Charging app and old NewMotion app?

A: The EV Charging app will initially have the same functionalities as the NewMotion app that you are currently using. We are planning to bring you a host of improved functionalities in the EV Charging app in the near future.
