Europe’s largest smart charging solutions provider for electric vehicles comes to the UK
With over 30,000 charge points throughout the continent and 75,000 charge card holders, the NewMotion has created Europe’s largest public EV charging network. The network uses cloud-technology to provide users with access no matter where they are via the NewMotion App and web portal. The app allows private or corporate users to locate charging stations and manage all online billings and settlements. In addition, the NewMotion introduces Dynamic Load Balancing, ensuring charge points are always charging at the maximum speeds without overloading the building supply or the electricity grid.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, the NewMotion is an independent company with over seven years’ experience of designing, installing and managing smart charge points and services as well as charge networks. The NewMotion began life working with the first electric vehicle manufacturers such as Nissan, Opel and Toyota, providing charge points in the boot of every new electric vehicle and has grown to become Europe’s largest charging network with a range of well-known international clients including IKEA Netherlands, KIA, Q-Park, APCOA (the largest automobile club in Germany) and AVA.
Sander van der Veen, The NewMotion Country Manager, commented: “We’re excited to be offering our users a seamless end-to-end service with the best electric vehicle charging solutions out there. Our smart technology allow customers to manage everything in one place via an app on their phone - from planning, locating charging points and powering-up their vehicle to managing costs of running an eco-friendly electric car. Eighty-five per cent of our users would recommend the service to their friends, family or co-workers, which tells us we’re doing something right. As electric vehicle use increases in Europe, the NewMotion wants to be at the forefront of delivering electricity to this growing group of businesses and commuters who want to manage their travel more effectively.”
Brechje Schwachofer, Dutch Deputy Ambassador to the UK, commented: “After the success of the NewMotion in The Netherlands, we’re very excited to see the company expand into the UK. There is a growing demand for electric vehicles across Europe and the NewMotion has the experience and expertise to deliver this to electric vehicle drivers and businesses in the UK.”
