This is our external collection agency Trust Krediet Beheer B.V. (TKB) who are responsible for managing our outstanding invoices. TKB contacts customers with outstanding invoices on behalf of NewMotion.
The only information required by TKB to collect outstanding invoices was provided to them. We fully complied with applicable data protection law in providing TKB with your personal data for the purposes of collecting the amounts owed.
When TKB had the ransomware placed on their servers this meant that they could not access the data for a limited time. The ransomware was designed to stop TKB from using the data, rather than the attackers using the data for their own purposes. TKB immediately engaged a professional forensic expert to further investigate and our security team have now started an additional investigation by our own security experts. On the basis of the initial investigation, there is a very small chance that customer data of NewMotion customers was exposed.
