NewMotion announces partnership with Volvo Car Germany
NewMotion gives Volvo’s electric vehicle drivers a smart charging experience and access to comprehensive service portfolio
Berlin, 8 January 2020 - NewMotion, a leading European smart charging solutions provider, and Volvo Car Germany today announce their partnership. Volvo launches the ‘Volvo Recharge Leasing’ programme for private and commercial customers ready to drive electric. Included in this lease offer are a Volvo car with Twin Engine and NewMotion’s smart charging solutions for charging at home and on-the-go. The partnership between Volvo Car Germany and NewMotion will make it more easy and accessible to drive electric for a wider audience.
As part of the leasing offer Volvo drivers receive professional installation of a Mess und Eichrecht (M&E) compliant charge point, a NewMotion charge card and access to the NewMotion app: for one fixed price per month. With a charging capacity of up to 22 kW, a vehicle can be charged up to eight times faster than a conventional standard socket.
Smooth transition to e-mobility Thomas Bauch, Managing Director of Volvo Car Germany GmbH: "With NewMotion as our new partner, we benefit not only from a large network of partner companies that install the charge points at the customer's site, but also from years of experience in all areas of electric mobility. Thanks to the full-service solutions and competent on-site service throughout Germany, we can now offer our private and business customers an attractive overall package from a single source.”
"We are delighted to put our ten years of expertise in the e-mobility industry in our partnership with Volvo Car Germany. And we’re proud that Volvo chose our smart and M&E compliant charging solutions to serve their customers. The complete charging solution Volvo electric vehicle drivers can rely on NewMotions expertise: from installation to after care and with solutions to fit their needs while charging at home or on-the go. The NewMotion Home Advanced View charge point available for drivers of Volvo’s newest plug-in hybrid model is compatible with the German legislation Mess und Eichrecht, that states that the MID electricity meter measurements used in a charge point needs to be visible to the user. The user must be able to verify that the amount of energy used for billing is correct.
Drivers can make use of NewMotion’s customer care day and night, seven days a week, have access to the NewMotion app and receive the NewMotion card for charging when on-the-go. Billing is quick and easy and the costs for all charging sessions are summarized on one bill.
