NewMotion Introduces Mess- & Eichrecht Compliant Charge Points
New ‘View’ charge points for electric vehicles available for pre-order now; delivery will start in September
Berlin, August 07 2019 – NewMotion, leading European smart charging solutions provider, has charge points certified for Mess EV / Mess- & Eichrecht (M&E) by the Association for Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Information Technologies (VDE) for the German market. NewMotion is one of the few charge point operators to be certified to offer M&E compliant charge points for electric vehicles which enable verifiable legally compliant billing. The first new M&E compliant ‘View’ charge points are available for pre-order now and will be delivered in September 2019.
German legislation states that the MID electricity meter measurements used in a charge point needs to be visible to the user. The user must be able to verify that the amount of energy used for billing is correct. This is applicable to charge points with guest usage, i.e. if guests pay for a charging session. This concerns private or (semi)public charge points in public parking lots, on company premises, or in apartment building car parks.
Models and advantages The new M&E compliant charge points are available in three variants: Business Pro View, Business Lite View for Business locations, and Home Advanced View for the home locations. The Business Pro and Lite View charge points offer M&E compliant business capabilities and allow to offer paid guest usage. The Home Advanced View for private homes supports automatic reimbursing of company car drivers for the cost of charging at home.
The M&E compliant charge points enable users to:
- Set paid guest usage for kWh for business locations.
- Enable reimbursement of transactions.
- Verify the charging session details, including kWh-amount, on the charge point’s display.
- Verify meter values on the invoice against registered meter data.
The NewMotion View charge points are certified for Module B and D of Mess EV / Mess- & Eichrecht (M&E). “NewMotions’ Mess- & Eichbrecht compliant charge points will give users full transparency in their usage as is required by German legislation”, says Klaus Schmidt-Dannert, General Manager for Germany at NewMotion. The new M&E compliant charge points by NewMotion are all smart and therefore always automatically updated with the latest firmware. With the installation comes 10 years of experience and expertise in EV-charging by NewMotion.
